Ever since she can remember, Alyssa has always loved the ocean. “I loved watching Discovery Channel and Shark Week, and I’m just fascinated by the creatures and the world below us,” says Alyssa. It was clear from an early age that scuba diving would be in her future. Alyssa first donned her fins in 2009 in her home state of Michigan and hasn’t taken them off since. Throughout her time at Sienna Heights University and Eastern Michigan University, Alyssa began working at a local dive shop while completing her bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry. In 2017, Alyssa decided it was time to get closer to the water, so she moved to Florida, where she joined Heroes Dive Center. As one of our managers, you can find her running the store where she’s always excited to share her passion for diving with newcomers and experienced divers alike.
