Kyle Schmidt
Boy Scout Coordinator
SSI Open Water Instructor
When Kyle first dove in the mud holes of New Port Richey, Florida, in 2003, he knew that he found his hobby. “There’s something so freeing about being underwater.” After years of diving, Kyle realized that he enjoyed diving so much he thought, “why not get paid instead of paying to do it?” Kyle then got his industrial diving certifications from the Commercial Diving Academy Institute in 2007. Spending most of his time inspecting bridges, culverts, and utilities around Florida, Kyle decided he wanted to expand his diving career by exploring job opportunities in the recreational sector. In 2019, Kyle completed his SSI Instructor Training Course here at Heroes Dive Center. Today you can find him teaching classes and training boy scouts as a scuba diving merit badge counselor.
