Amanda Prystupa
SSI Advanced Open Water Instructor
SSI Mermaid Instructor
Amanda didn’t always plan to become a dive professional. After graduating with her bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology at the University of South Florida in St. Petersburg, it seemed fitting to explore the diving community and career path. Once certified in May of 2018 at Hudson Grotto, she then participated in a dive-intensive coral research internship in Roatan, Honduras, and was hooked. After completing her Stress and Rescue course at Heroes, she jumped at the opportunity when offered to work here and complete her Dive Master courses. “Teaching diving to people as a career sounded like the perfect way to combine my love for marine biology and my passion for scuba diving.” Amanda joined the Heroes team in October 2018 and has continued to work as an Advanced Open Water Instructor. The marine wildlife and coral reef systems are her passion, and she’s always ready to teach aspiring divers.
