Open Water Diver

At an early age, Jacqueline knew the ocean would be a big part of her life. Jacqueline's father is a scuba diver, but she wasn't sure she wanted to be a diver herself until she joined Scubanauts, a marine science education program. This afterschool club focuses on marine research and conservation techniques to give high school students the chance to assist with real conservation projects. In May of 2020, Jacque finally took the plunge and officially became a certified scuba diver. Since then, she has had the opportunity to work on multiple coral restoration projects in the Florida Keys alongside her fellow Scubanauts. Jaque plans to attend the College of the Florida Keys after high school to study marine biology. In January 2021, she joined the Heroes Dive Center team as our newest Divemaster Intern. "I want to become a divemaster so that I can get a job on a dive boat once I move down to the Keys." Jacque can't wait to start her professional career as a diver.
